REVIEW | Urbgasm.com via Parker L Bryant

Here is the continuation of Parker Bryant’s INTERVIEW with www.ShShares.com…

On Writing and Urbgasm.com…

Parker, tell us about Urbgasm.com. What inspired you to start it?

One day I decided it was time to tell my story. It started with BrokenMyrror.com where I would post my poetry and personal letters/notes of inspiration. I actually started it from my first REAL heartbreak. Later, I wanted to document the great things I was seeing in my city with underground music, fashion and entertainment–all the other big cities had one so I wanted to give one to my city. I saw magazines that would target urban people were moving away from content and filling the pages with sexy pictures of females but nothing else. So I kept my website very content heavy.

Explain the name. How’d it come to be?

UrbGasm—The Urban Climax… I am extremely sexual

Did you always aspire to be a writer?  How did that come to be?

I always wanted to be a writer since I wrote my first short story in school about two twins who lived opposite lives. When I looked up my teacher was captivated (staring at me—how I felt in middle school) and I knew then I was working with something others didn’t have. If I wasn’t going to be a writer, it was a teacher. I am living out my dreams.

Do you ever think to give up writing? If so, why did you want to give up?

Every day I want to give up writing because it is somewhat like the latin language to the demographic I target. However, writing is my life-line. One day my name will be in the lights of being a New York Best Selling Author–I want to write plays and movies… I write all across the board. The very moment I think about giving up is when I realize if no one else tells the truth, I will.

What  is the worst aspect of your occupation as a writer? What is the best?

My personal worst aspect of me being a writer is that I have not mastered being a fictional or “topic” writer. I truly write about my life experiences. That’s why I think people relate the way they do because I give everyone my raw emotions. Many times I cry when I am writing because its my therapy.

The best part about writing is when I look back over it and said I was brave enough to publish my heart to the world and there are no fictional portions in it.

Are you fulfilled?

I wish I could write more; however, I do live a life of a normal young professional. The last year I didn’t have the deep spark but now that I am back in the classroom and recently going through a very trying year and a half. I have some very good new material for my readers. I am never satisfied. I am my worst critic and my biggest fan.

What is your focus? / What guides you on your path?

Life guides my path of writing. Love and spiritual connectedness all guide me.

NOW, if the prior questions have not enabled you to present a whole picture of your journey, please tell the story on your own here…

My journey is very convoluted and full of surprises. I like to stay very grounded to the reality that shXt can all go bad. However, there are great possibilities of things going right. I smile the most when I have a sense of peace of myself. When I can not look in the mirror to find myself, I worry and that’s when I write. I also like to tell the raw story of others who are true artist of their craft. Whenever I interview, my focal questions are so different than what I have read because though I speak of their craft I want to know their core–their fans deserve to know their core.

In Closing…

Knowing where you are now and all you have experienced up until this point, what TWO words of advice would you share with your younger self?

My favorite saying I would tell my younger self is:

    1. Never let pain stop your passion
    2. Regardless of how much they don’t like it, never change yourself for someone to love you.
LOVE IT!!! Parker, what do you have in store for your future? What should we look forward to?

In the future, I want to complete my book, I want to write a play and to continue the work of urbgasm.com. I want to continue my work as a freelance writer and publicist. On Dec 1 2013 I am starting my installment of The Naked Truth— telling my recent story of giving up everything at the cost of love.

Is there anything else you would like to share?

Thank you for allowing me this opportunity. Yahweh Lives
