I am SO excited to have the good fortune of featuring this current guest! THE Parker Bryant is, in so many ways, one of the most AWESOMEST individuals that I have NEVER met! (I don’t think I’ve ever seen PK in person before!) From afar, THE Parker Bryant is a go-gettin’ mover and shaker who boasts many bright ideas, talents and a passion like I’ve rarely seen before! The ‘mystique’ left along this path is something that I am hoping we can shed light on within the following sneak peek into the life… the legend… the legendary….

Background

Thank you for your willingness to share a bit about yourself and your experiences with the Sh’Shares NETWORK audience! Please tell us a little about yourself including your childhood.

My childhood is very casted with unpredictable events. Though outwardly stereotypical, I was raised in a very strong maternal centered family. My parents were two women, or maybe more. I have my Great Grand Mother, Mother, My Grandmother (ourmomma), my Aunties and my older sister who structured me into the woman I am today. All I can remember is love and REAL! If my family taught me nothing it taught me how to respect the laws of the blood and how to stay real even in your own sense of identity. My childhood experienced struggle, but it never lived struggled. Because of my Mother I know what it is like to “get it how you live” as long as your family wants for nothing. My background is one of a prominent black average female dominant family who took no bullshit and who went for the gold every time!

Give us an idea of where you currently are in life and how that came to be?

Currently in life I am at a pivotal turning point. Right now in my life it is either do or die because I am not getting any younger. I can say I reached this point in my life by not being able to pin point the exact moment I stopped truly focusing on the outcome of certain actions.

Going a little deeper, what types of challenges have you faced over the years prior to arriving where you currently find yourself?

One of my biggest challenges I have faced was losing myself in others and losing the motivation to fight for myself.

On Love…

You appear to be a very love guided individual. Explain your love experience and your related love philosophy.

I am controlled by my emotional house; yes I am guided by my love. My family showed me what unconditional love was. The women in my family also exposed me to what “loving hard” was. I don’t know, all I know to do is love and when I love I love with every fiber in my body. It is only until you give no regards to my life, meaning kill me emotionally, that I shut completely down to never open up to you again. I guess you can say I love until death……

You often allude to sacrifice that you may have made, are making OR are willing to make for love. Please explain.

I sacrifice life for love. I would rather die knowing I experienced love than to live having not loved at all

On PRIDE…

Even in your being uncharacteristically private about your personal life, you are pretty open about your sexual orientation. Tell us about that.

I live a life that is full of integrity. I don’t strive to be a labeled lesbian–I strive to live an accountable life as a woman of great accomplishments. However, I am very comfortable in my skin and the way I chose to love. Therefore it is not a secret but it is also no one’s business of my personal behaviors to satisfy my human needs.

Would you say that your sexuality and related views have impacted your being a writer in any way? OR If it has, how would you say that your writing has impacted your sexuality?

Writing has affected the way I perceive life. As a writer you can approach it in so many ways to get to so many endings… which are never endings just long resting points before the story picks up again. I view love and life like that. I never wanted the perfect picture, I abstractly appreciate everything. And as things come to long resting points I never get too sad I just await the day when the story will continue.

Ok! So we know about that aspect of your love and passion. Tell us about your love affair with music.

I am in an ongoing threesome with music and writing. I honestly don’t know which one came first I just know I love them the same. Music inspires my writing and my writing is always accompanied by music, especially poetry. Music and words go hand and hand. I live for them both. I am in love with MUSIC… its my voice when I’m willing to become mute.
