I remember my first time interacting with Liltera (virtually)–she was SO pleasant and cheerful! It was refreshing to engage with a kindred spirit on such terms! She was extremely helpful, and to see the way that she promotes herself and her endeavors… it is nothing short of absolutely AMAZING!!!
The same can be said of her book, Dearly Beloved S.I.S.T.A.S.…
Dearly Beloved S.I.S.T.A.S. tells the story of Sheila, a young lady fighting with the inner sanctions of family, friendship and faith–all of which she is burdened with as a result of childhood struggles. Sheila must face her life’s demons in order to save her relationships and create a life of peace for herself.
The story is told from the perspective of Sheila, and her friends, each of whom have their own personal struggles to face while also attempting to salvage what remains of their relationships with one another. It brings to the readers mind every day turmoil that each of us encounters in managing to balance these things ourselves. The reader is able to relate for this reason alone but will also be able to effortlessly see depictions of our closest friends and family members within the characters that Liltera Williams has created.
With Dearly Beloved S.I.S.T.A.S., Author Liltera Williams does a wonderful job of highlighting the thought process of a situation that many of us may not be able to relate to as closely: mental illness. I found it particularly interesting how this situation was presented to reader within the story. At the onset of any story, a reader is trying to piece together facts to ascertain the grand picture and therefore make just suppositions regarding the outcome, but this book makes the reader really think! There is much guesswork in trying to figure out what happens next or how the story will end, which makes reading Dearly Beloved S.I.S.T.A.S. all the more exciting. You just don’t know what’s going to happen next!
Reading this book was fun! The genre was new to my collection as much of my material stays closely within the framework of self-help, inspiration and the personal blogs of my inner circle. Even still, it read like a blog! Each character told her own story and presented details in a raw, uncensored format. I loved that!
